I'm going on Hajj or Umrah - what do I need?

Meningitis ACWY (Menveo) is mandatory for the Saudi visa and must have been given within the last 5 years and at least 10 days before arrival. We administer it and issue the certificate the same visit. Hepatitis A, Typhoid and seasonal flu are also strongly recommended.

How far in advance should I book?

Ideally 4-6 weeks before travel, especially for multi-dose vaccines like Rabies. For Hajj jabs and most single-dose vaccines, same-week appointments are fine, and even at short notice most travel vaccines still provide useful protection.

Which vaccines do I actually need?

It depends on where you're going, for how long, your activities, age and medical history. We don't sell a generic 'package' - every recommendation follows current NaTHNaC guidance for your specific itinerary. The pre-travel consultation is included.

Are travel vaccines free on the NHS?

Some are. The combined Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio booster, Hepatitis A and Typhoid are NHS-funded for certain destinations via GP practices. Yellow Fever, Rabies, Hajj jabs, Japanese Encephalitis and Hepatitis B for tourism are private. If you have time, ask your GP about the NHS ones first.

Can children be vaccinated here?

Yes. Most travel vaccines are licensed from 1 year, Yellow Fever from 9 months, and some earlier. We'll work out the right schedule for each child.

How long does an appointment take?

Plan for 20-30 minutes. That covers the pre-travel risk assessment, the vaccines, and time to issue any certificates or malaria prescriptions.
